Public Safety

The Kingwood Service Association Public Safety Committee Meeting is held every second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the South Woodland Hills Community Room, 2030 Shadow Rock, Kingwood, 77339.

July, 2010 was an excellent month for Kings River Village. According to the Harris County Precinct Four Constable’s Office report, there was a decrease in almost all statistics with one exception. The reports of suspicious vehicles were up from 3 to 8, which may explain for the decrease in other reports. I’m happy to report that there was a decrease in break in to motor vehicles. There were only 2 reported for the month of July, a decrease from 15 for June. Statistically, these rise and stay high for the summer months and only decline once school starts. Both of the reports involved a break in to the complainant’s UNLOCKED vehicle. Get to know your neighbors and call the Constable’s office if you see suspicious vehicles or persons.

In Kingwood, for July there was a small increase in motor vehicle break-in’s and burglaries. There was a decrease in reports of criminal mischief. These are less than reported the same time last year and are expected to decrease when school starts. The Public Safety committee approved the purchase of a laser radar detector for the Houston police department Kingwood division. The committee also approved the purchase of a bicycle to replace the bicycle that was stolen last month provided that it is not recovered in the next 30 days. There was a motion to approve the discussion for a Public Safety Committee Crime Watch Group that would serve as a neighborhood watch for all KSA neighborhoods.
