On Easter Sunday around noon, a house in the 6500 block of Upper Lake was burglarized. Suspect(s) forced entry by breaking a window in the back of the house to gain entry. A black male was seen running through a back yard. Also reported: 2 suspicious black males in a black colored Ford Taurus, but no license plate number was provided.
Residents should be aware of their surroundings at all times. Be aware of suspicious vehicles or vehicles that may not seem suspicious, but are lurking in the area and they have not seen before. Residents should be aware of vehicles possibly following them while they are driving home. If they are being followed or suspect they are being followed, they should go to their house, but remain mobile and contact police on a cell phone so a patrol unit can get to them to stop and identify the possible suspicious vehicle. The same applies for suspicious persons or a person in the area they don't know or talk to and this person they don't know appears overly friendly.
Residents should pay close attention to their surroundings all the times and report suspicious activity. We do not mind answering these types of calls and in many cases we are able to identify suspicious vehicles and persons, and possibly avoid an incident.
